Languid and Lustrous at Calvin Klein

Saturday, April 9, 2011

New York – "Lounging at home in Santa Fe," as Kevin Carrigan said, was the perfect description given by the ck Calvin Klein creative director, at the fall 2011 presentation held on Tuesday, March 29, in New York.
Languid and Lustrous at Calvin Klein
Carrigan painted the perfect desert picture with a pewter snake print sheath dress and head to toe boa print body suit, representing a taste of the local Southwest reptilian fauna. While metallic pieces in copper and gold radiated that warm glow of the sun going down, pewter, silvers and grays struck the perfect balance to cool off those dry desert nights.
Silhouettes were long and languid with loungewear at heart when loose fitting men's inspired pajama style sets were detailed with a drawstring waist and elastic at the cuff for women. A bathrobe alpaca coat with low hanging belt and oversized round collar completed the lackadaisical feel with effortless leather-slipper flats.
His and her black tuxedoes will certainly be a hit come fall, especially when paired with the plain white tee peeking out from underneath. Pants are tapered with a thinner leg adding to lean silhouettes.
Not to fear, though, it wasn't too relaxed at the company's 39th Street headquarters display, as there was still sexiness in the new fall underwear line Naked Glamour. "Today's women want glamour everyday," Carrigan said. "So why not start with your underwear?" With a delicate lace trim and nude color, Naked Glamour is sure to become an empowering second skin for any woman.
"I'm loving copper at the moment," said Carrigan, as he singled out the burnish metallic button and zipper embellishments as well as the reddish tinted wash of the ck One signature denim.
